High - resolution Near - Infrared Images and Models of the Circumstellar Disk in HH 30
We present Hubble Space Telescope (HST) Near-Infrared Camera and Multi-object Spectrometer (NICMOS) observations of the reflection nebulosity associated with the T Tauri star HH 30. The images show the scattered light pattern characteristic of a highly inclined, optically thick disk with a prominent dustlane whose width decreases
متن کاملThe Spectral Energy Distribution of Hh 30 Irs: Constraining the Circumstellar Dust Size Distribution
We present spectral energy distribution (SED) models for the edge-on classical T Tauri star HH 30 IRS that indicate that dust grains have grown to larger than 50 km within its circumstellar disk. The disk geometry and inclination are known from previous modeling of multiwavelength Hubble Space Telescope images, and we use the SED (0.5 km 1 j 1 3 mm) to constrain the dust size distribution. Mode...
متن کاملThe Photometric Variability of Hh 30
HH 30 is an edge-on disk around a young stellar object. Previous imaging with the Hubble Space Telescope has show morphological variability that is possibly related to the rotation of the star or the disk. We report the results of two terrestrial observing campaigns to monitor the integrated magnitude of HH 30. We use the Lomb-Scargle periodogram to look for periodic modulation with periods bet...
متن کاملThe Warped Circumstellar Disk of Hd100546
We propose that the two armed spiral features seen in visible Hubble Space Telescope images of scattered light in HD100546’s circumstellar disk are caused by the illumination of a warped outer disk. A tilt of 6-15 degrees from the symmetry plane can cause the observed surface brightness variations providing the disk is very twisted (highly warped) at radii greater than 200 AU where the spiral f...
متن کاملDetection of DCO in a circumstellar disk
We report the first detection of DCO in a circumstellar disk. The DCO J=5–4 line at 360.169 GHz is observed with the 15m James Clerk Maxwell Telescope in the disk around the pre-main sequence star TW Hya. Together with measurements of the HCO and HCO J=4–3 lines, this allows an accurate determination of the DCO/HCO ratio in this disk. The inferred value of 0.035±0.015 is close to that found in ...
